Orlando’s unfinished beltway is getting a 5-mile step towards completion tomorrow as a new section of the Wekiva Parkway opens.
The segment stretches from U.S. 441 and ends at Kelly Park Road. This is the second portion to open as a section north of Apopka has already opened from SR 46 to Mount Plymouth Road.
The 15 mile segment which will connect SR 429 in Maitland/Apopka to I4 in Sanford will complete Orlando’s “beltway” which includes SR 417.
A spur will also run northwest from the Wekiva Parkway into Mount Dora to allow for a free flowing traffic pattern for the growing community in Lake County.
