Downtown Orlando will forever be changed with the addition of UCF and Valencia College in downtown Orlando.
Today, (May 11th, 2017) UCF and Valencia College officially broke ground on what will be a massive expansion to their already impressive portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs.
Community leaders and school officials alike stressed the importance of this new downtown campus as not only beneficial to the downtown core itself, but the surrounding communities.
The Parramore community will benefit greatly from this new campus, not only for employment opportunities, but also for academic opportunities as well.
The new campus will house many art programs, including culinary arts, digital arts, and hospitality.
The new UCF/Valencia joint campus will be located in Creative Village, which is the area the old Amway Arena was located, near the Orlando Centroplex.
Many other projects associated with the Dr. Phillips Academic Commons have been unveiled, but are still awaiting final approval, including a 15-story tower adjacent to the academic building, that will be for student housing as well as instructional space.
