27 Awesome Summer Traveling Tips

We’re all planning our summer getaways. I have 2 actually. 1 to Vegas, and then another to Chicago. But I always try to find tips on how to get all my things packed and where they need to be. That was I don’t have to scramble between underwear and socks to find a phone charger. Check out these cool tips for your next vacation!

  • When packing your shoes, wrap them in shower caps so they don’t dirty any of your clothes.
  • Call your card company and make them aware you’re traveling. The worst thing is you needing money in Italy and your stranded.
  • Store your chargers and cables in empty eye glass cases, it’ll make sure you don’t tangle them and are searching like crazy.
  • If you bring an empty bottle of water through TSA, you can fill it up at the water fountain before your flight.
  • THIS is something I needed- when you book your flight or search for one, enable private browsing, if your cookies and searches are tracked, you’ll get higher prices based on your search history. Also clear out your cache.
  • When packing clothes, instead of square folding them, roll them. It will save space and decrease the chance of wrinkles.
  • Ladies, bobby pins are like socks, they will always get lost. Keep them in an empty Tic Tac container to prevent them from escaping.
  • I found this out last year, and was blown away. We all have out usb chargers, but often forget our cubes to them. Use the TV in your hotel room, the back of it allows you to plug in the USB cord to charge your phone.
  • Hotels also often have random phone chargers at the front desk for you to borrow. Just make sure you don’t take off with it.
  • Stick dryer sheets between your clothes when you pack so they smell nice and fresh.
  • I’m a mess when I travel with jewelry. Use a pill box to separate your earrings and necklaces.
  • Invest in a portable phone charger. They are fairly inexpensive and will last you a while. It’ll save you from your phone dying while traveling.
  • If you’re taking a road trip, you can easily turn a plastic cereal container into a trash can to avoid trash all over your car.
  • A shower caddy can be more useful than you think. If you buy one, it’ll be easy on the road for you to put fast food in it and eat with little mess.
  • When your in a non familiar city, drop a pin in Google maps, where your car is, this way you won’t have to search randomly for it.
  • Keeping dress shirt collars clean and neat can be easy by rolling up a belt and sticking it in while packing.
  • Plastic baggies are a life saver if your phone doesn’t have a waterproof case. Keep them with you when you go to the beach or theme parks.
  • SUPER IMPORTANT- you can keep wine and champagne bottles from breaking by securing them in pool floaties.
  • Did you know a pot holder can double as a hot iron cover? Neither did I!
  • Binder clips can secure your razors and keep them protected while traveling.
  • Keep a digital copy of your passport, and print it out, just in case you lose your original.
  • When bringing shampoos, lotions, and other liquids on your trip, be sure to unscrew the cap and place plastic wrap on the bottle. Then put the cap back on.
  • Liquid concealer and creams can be stored in contact cases.
  • If you’re plane doesn’t have a tv in the back of the seat in front of you. Use that handy plastic baggy and put your phone in it, then attach it to the tray so you can watch your downloaded Netflix off on your phone.
  • You can check the status of your flights on Google by typing in the airline name and flight number.
  • Wrap your headphones around old gift cards to keep them from tangling.
  • Lastly, if you want to drink on your flight without spending half your savings, you ARE allowed to bring mini bottles of liquor in your carry on. Remember they have to be travel sized and unopened when you go through TSA.
