Adam’s Fun Facts: Dr. Pepper, Aircraft Carriers, Walt Disney & More!

How many aircraft carriers are active in the world?  Who has the record for the most Oscar’s won, ever?  Which came first, Dr. Pepper or Coca-Cola?  All that and more with Adam’s Fun Facts:

1. The phrase “keeping up with the Joneses” is based on a real family with the last name Jones. They built a huge mansion in Rhinebeck, New York in the mid 1800s, and other rich families in the area remodeled their homes to try to match them. (How Stuff Works)

2. Walt Disney has the record for winning the most Oscars total, with 22 and the record for most in one year, when he won four in 1954. (Wikipedia)

3. There are only 37 aircraft carriers active around the world right now. They belong to 12 different navies, and 10 of the 37 aircraft carriers are American. (Wikipedia)

4. Dr. Pepper was invented one year before Coca-Cola. Dr. Pepper was created in 1885 in Waco, Texas and Coca-Cola was invented in 1886 in Atlanta. (Travel Addicts)

5. Many people are still without power in Central Florida due to Hurricane Matthew including my mother and grandmother who live in Palm Coast! :+(
