Cruise Ships Changing Course Ahead Of Hurricane Matthew

If you’ve turned on any news outlet over the past week and a half, you know that Hurricane Matthew is the topic of discussion in regards to weather.

The powerful hurricane is currently a category 4 with winds around 140 mph and higher gusts.

The storm is trekking north through the Caribbean affecting Haiti and Cuba before setting sights on The Bahamas.

Port Canaveral is one of the busiest passenger ports in the state and many cruise itineraries stop at ports in the Bahamas.

Due to hurricane Matthew, many ships have shifted their itineraries.

Disney has shifted the Dream from scheduled stops in the Bahamas to stops in Mexico instead.

Royal Caribbean will take passengers to Key West rather than Nassau.

Both ships depart today, (Monday October 3rd.)

It’s still early, but itineraries for Thursday sailings have yet to be decided.
