Yes, it is Autumn, but Tropical Storm Matthew has formed in the Caribbean Sea, just east of the Lesser Antillies.
The maximum sustained winds are 60 mph with westward movement around 20 mph.
The storm is forecast to make an abrupt turn to the north, with forecasts suggesting it will be well off to the east of Florida next week, but could kick up surf and churn squally weather into our area.
The current forecast has a storm heading due north, landing somewhere in the Carolinas.
The forecast could change and Floridians should keep an eye on the storm through early next week.
