For those who have been eagerly dreaming about a collaboration from two of hip-hop’s biggest names, wait no more. Kanye West announced that he and Drake are indeed working on an album together.
Speaking with Vogue ahead of his Yeezy Season 4 show today (September 7), West said, “We’re just working on music, working on a bunch of music together, just having fun going into the studio.” If that sounds more like a track, hold tight. West confirmed, “We’re working on an album, so there’s some exciting things coming up soon.” He wouldn’t share a specific release date, though.
The two fueled rumors of a collaboration in August when a billboard displaying G.O.O.D. Music’s and OVO Sound’s logos appeared in Los Angeles. “Calabasas is the new Abu Dhabi,” it read, referring to the city where both Drake and West own houses (via SPIN).
In late August, Drake whet listeners’ appetites for a collab between the two when he shared the track “You Know, You Know,” which West produced for him in 2010 and was intended for his album Thank Me Later. It never made the final cut.
