What was Best Buy originally called?  Why are there 40 songs in the Top 40?  How did Six Flags get it’s name?  All that and more with Adam’s Fun Facts:

1. NBC split itself into two networks in the 1920s and 1930s, the Red Network for more expensive shows, and the Blue Network for cheaper ones. The FCC made them divide into separate companies in 1939, and the Blue Network became ABC. (Wikipedia)

2. The phrase “over the top” comes from World War One, when soldiers had to go over the top of a trench and face death. (Phrases)

3. Six Flags got its name because of the six different nations Texas has been a part of: Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the United States, and the Confederacy. (Wikipedia)

4. The reason there’s a top 40 for songs is because jukeboxes in the ’50s used to hold exactly 40 songs. (About)
