Tropical Disturbance Could Affect South East Coast Late Next Week

We’re in the time of year where anything “brewing” in the Atlantic Ocean should peak the interest of Floridians.

There is an area in the Central Atlantic Ocean, dubbed “Invest 99L” which is making it’s way westward near the Greater Antillies.

Meteorologists are warning people from Key West to North Carolina to monitor this system, as early models are forecasting this to become a named system as it makes its way towards the southeastern United States.

Last week, Louisiana received over 20 inches of rain in less than 2 days time, causing historic flooding from a system without a name and hardly any wind.

It doesn’t take a category 3 storm to cause significant damage, sometimes it just takes days and days of rainfall to wreak havoc on an area.

Meteorologists are giving early warnings, just in case Invest 99L does in fact become a named system.

We’ll update you if 99L becomes a named Tropical Storm, and you can track the latest here.
