With Rio 2016 well under way, focus has turned to landing the next Olympic bid and for 2024, the bid city is Los Angeles.
LA faces stiff competition from Rome, Paris and Budapest. If for some reason, Los Angeles doesn’t land the host city in 2024, rumor has it that Orlando will be among the contenders for 2028 along with Houston and San Francisco.
Orlando would be an ideal host city, mainly due to the already massive amount of hotel rooms to house the spectators as well as our plethora of theme parks and recreational activities for families looking to vacation during the Olympics.
Aside from the hospitality side, Orlando boasts state-of-the-art sporting venues such as The Amway Center, The Citrus Bowl, ESPN Wide World Of Sports, Brighthouse Networks Stadium, CFE Arena, and soon, the Orlando City Soccer Stadium.
Any events that required water could easily be done in either Daytona Beach or even Tampa/St Petersburg.
Thrillist stated the case for Orlando in pretty convincing fashion which you can see here.
