Last night, Kim Kardashian launched the nuclear version of call-outs when she released footage from a conversation between Taylor Swift and Kanye West. When Twitter erupted in a #KimExposedTaylorParty (still trending nearly 12 hours later), some of Swift’s famous friends came to her defense. Selena Gomez urged Twitter users to “use their voice for something that f–king matters.”

“Truth is, last thing we need right now is hate in any form,” she wrote. “This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh.”

Twitter users then pointed out that despite weeks of tragedy and intense political dialogue, Gomez has remained quiet on “issues that matter” like gun violence and the #BlackLivesMatter movement. In a tweet she’s since deleted, Gomez allegedly wrote, “so that means if I hashtag something I save lives?”
