It’s hard to believe that “Whataya Want from Me” singer and former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert has only been on the entertainment scene since 2009. Today, Lambert is celebrating his 31st birthday and wants all Glamberts to help focus their gift giving to a charitable cause.

Lambert is encouraging fans to make a $31 donation to the We Are Family Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes cultural diversity around the globe.

Producer/composer, CHIC frontman, and pal of Lambert’s, Nile Rodgers, is keeping a running tally of the donations via Twitter today.

For a $1 donation, you can sign a special card for Lambert, and for a donation of $31 or more, you will be able to upload a 10 second video birthday greeting for Lambert to see.
