You’ve heard her on the air and now you’re wondering, “Who is that girl on-the-air with Scott, Dana, and Jay?” Well, now you get to meet her as we play 15 Questions with Intern Alyssa!
Q: Where do you go to school?
A: I am in my last semester at the University of Central Florida!
Q: What is your major?
A: Interpersonal/Organizational Communication
Q: Are you in a relationship?
A: Uh oh, this is getting really personal…
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: I absolutely love lobster and any other kind of shellfish. Publix subs are a close second.
Q: Do you have a ‘Starbucks drink’?
A: The entire menu.
Q: Do you or did you play any sports?
A: I was a swimmer throughout high school and a little bit of college.
Q: Do you have a favorite sports team?
A: Red Sox and the Los Angeles Angels, and anyone who beats the Yankees. I love baseball so much that I’d happily watch any team play.
Q: Who is your favorite singer/band?
A: I love all types of music, so that’s hard. Off the top of my head, I’d say Band of Horses or anything in that folk-rock genre.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: It’s a tie between The Emperor’s New Groove, Garden State, and Little Miss Sunshine.
Q: Who is your favorite actor or actress?
A: Anyone from Saturday Night Live. Kristen Wiig (especially in her wacky characters) is totally my alter ego. My other favorites would probably have to be Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Bill Hader. I don’t even want to have to pick favorites though, I like all of the cast.
Q: Do you do Community Service?
A: Yep. I’ve seen firsthand how important it is for hospitals to have a plentiful source of blood, so I started to set up and run blood drives four years ago. In fact, I made a short video last month where I asked some donors why they donate! Hopefully it inspires other people to give blood. Click here to watch. I also go with a friend to the Humane Society to walk some of the adoptable dogs.
Q: What is one thing that we would never guess about you?
A: I love to rap. I have no concept of tune or pitch; I just think its fun to rattle off a bunch of words really quickly.
Q: When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
A: I eat, even if I’m already full. I guess I tend to do that even when I don’t have free time though.
Q: Why did you want to intern at MIX105.1 and how has your experience been so far?
A: I wanted to intern here because I want to pursue a career in radio/television production and this is an incredible place to start. I’ve listened to Scott McKenzie and the Morning MIX since I moved to Orlando, and now I get to be on the show. The whole experience has been and will be nothing short of fantastic. Actually, fantastic is an understatement. This is the most fun work environment I have ever come across.
