Baring it all in the opening few minutes of his summer blockbuster Magic Mike couldn’t have hurt when it came time for People magazine to name the Sexiest Man Alive for 2012, but according to Channing Tatum‘s wife, actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum, there’s more to the screen’s hottest hunk than meets the eye.

“People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don’t know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is,” Dewan-Tatum says in People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue, which hits newsstands this Friday, November 16th. ”He is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get.”
