It’s always interesting to hear what other artists are listening to. Often times the personal choices of pop artists lie outside the mainstream. Such is the case with Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees, who gave us his views on the best music out there today when he stopped by MIX 105.1 for a Heineken All Access Lounge performance.

“There’s a band called Twin Shadow that I really love and that’s my favorite album,” Glenn told us. “You should really check it out. I don’t know if it’s on the radio, but it’s really solid all the way through.”

Twin Shadow happens to be the stage name of former Floridian George Lewis Jr. whose second album, Confess, was released just last month. Much of the music of Twin Shadow is a throwback to the sounds of the 80s.

When it came to choosing a specific favorite song of the moment, Glenn had a slightly harder time coming up with an answer. “I’m still really an album guy,” he said, “so I just like to get the album and dissect it.”

He did reluctantly admit to a thing for Ms. Katy Perry though. “I saw that Katy Perry movie and I like her music a lot. Guilty pleasure,” Glenn chuckled.
