Since Facebook sadly takes up a decent amount of my time, I noticed some trends showing on my newsfeed and they are very annoying!  Since Facebook is now more geared towards being a more visual form of social media, we are getting updates on the most pointless and useless information. Here are my top 4 annoying Facebook trends!

1) Overly Used Quotes As Statuses: “Live. Laugh. Love.” or “It’s not about the breaths you take, it’s about the moments that take your breath away.” Statuses like these get on my nerves. They are everywhere and every girl seems to think that one of these quotes is very original and unique. Well it’s not and in reality, I have pinned it on Pinterest, Barnes and Nobles already has a calendar with these quotes, and my roommate has the poster. Be original!

2) Posting Pictures Of Food: There is another type of social media, Pinterest, that is made for food and other girly things like that. They even have a food category. But for some reason, pictures of mozzarella, avocado, olive oil and tomato salads have been taking up half of my FB screen. I don’t know why this trend has taken over the Facebook world, but make it stop.

3) When People Write To Facebook: Ever see one of these, “Dear Facebook, I would really appreciate if you would not change the layout anymore. I don’t know how to work it and I’m very tired of trying to figure everything out. Please stop with the updates, it was fine how it was. Thank you and love always xoxo.”  First of all, Facebook is not going to read your status.  Secondly, Facebook does not care and neither do we.

4) Checking In Everywhere: Checking-in is a very cool feature and I really do like it. However, there are some people that think it is very important to check in when they go to class or when they are at home. Why do you need to check in at your own house? If you are going to cool places with your friends, then ok, but if you are alone and doing nothing fun, check out of Facebook.

What’s your pet peeve with Facebook?
