Chris Brown, his girlfriend and bodyguard were injured when a showdown with members of Drake’s entourage got out of control at a New York nightclub. Witnesses told police that a couple of people from Drake’s entourage went to Chris Brown’s table and asked him whether he had a problem with Drake. (Drake dated Rihanna following her split with Chris.) Later, when Chris was leaving the nightclub, five guys blocked his way on the dance floor and the melee began. Police are investigating the incident.
Kevin Costner defeated Stephen Baldwin in court yesterday. Kevin is heavily invested in the manufacturer of a device that cleans up oil spills. Stephen accused Kevin of duping him into selling his shares right before the company got a $52 million contract to help clean up the BP spill. He and another defendant sued for $17 million, but Kevin won. Kevin said, “My name means more to me than money and that’s why we didn’t settle.”
The IRS is after R. Kelly for nearly $5 million in back taxes. They say he owes for every year from 2005 to 2010. R. Kelly’s rep says he’s in the process of working everything out with the government and is confident that all of his obligations will be satisfied. Last year R. Kelly’s mansion in Chicago went into foreclosure. He paid $2.6 million in back taxes in 2008 and another $1 million last year.
Adam Levine is going to make his movie debut in “Can a Song Save Your Life?” alongside Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo. The movie is about a singer, played by Keira, who moves to New York with her boyfriend, a musician played by Adam, to pursue a music career. Adam’s character breaks up with Keira’s, shortly after the move, to pursue a solo career. Mark Ruffalo plays a record producer who discovers her.
Robert Pattinson has quit smoking and his fans are trying to help him cope. He’s been chewing toothpicks and says that someone noticed in Cannes and, literally, the next day in Lisbon, then in Paris and in Berlin there were people on the red carpet giving him huge amounts of toothpicks – thousands of them.
Scarlett Johansson is considered to be one of the sexiest women in the world, but says she’s not crazy about getting that kind of attention. She laughed when she was asked if she thinks of herself as a role model to other women, saying there are so many other wonderful women out there. She added that she doesn’t like being labeled as ‘the sexiest woman alive.’ There are worse things, ScarJo!
