You’d think John Mayer would have learned his lesson from 2010′s Playboy magazine article where he shared intimate details of his relationships with Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston. Mayer’s at it again and this time his target is Taylor Swift.

In the new issue of Rolling Stone Mayer discusses his humiliation when hearing Swift’s song “Dear John.” In the song, Swift paints the picture of love gone wrong. And, after rumors that the two dated it was evident that the song is about him.

“Dear John, I see it all now that you’re gone/ Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with?/ The girl in the dress cried the whole way home/ I should’ve known,” she sings.

Later, she adds, “Don’t you think 19′s too young to be played by your dark twisted games when I loved you so.”

“It made me feel terrible,” Mayer told Rolling Stone. “Because I didn’t deserve it. I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do.”

Mayer said he didn’t realize how Swift felt until he heard the song.

“I never got an e-mail. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?”

It’s a well known fact that Swift often writes songs about her exes but Mayer disregards this.

“I will say as a songwriter that I think it’s kind of cheap songwriting,” Mayer said.

Mayer should take some advice from his own music, specifically “My Stupid Mouth” from his 2001 debut release Room for Squares.

“My stupid mouth has got me in trouble/ I said too much again,” he sings. “How could I forget?/ Mama said, ‘Think before speaking’/ No filter in my head/ Oh, what’s a boy to do/ I guess he better find one soon.”
