Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum has had a busy year touring the world with his bandmates Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley, not to mention getting married this month.

While the marriage ceremony, held in Nashville, was a success, did have a question about Dave’s wardrobe. In particular, they were “concerned” about a photo of the happy couple that hit the Internet the day after his wedding. “Your pants were too bunchy at the bottom by your shoes, Dave. Why didn’t the photographer notice that?”

Of all the things to worry about on your wedding day, bunchy pants are probably near the end of the list. Still, Haywood came clean.

“I think we were walking around a lot,” he said, “and they probably were. I’m sorry. I let everyone down with that. My ankles have been getting a little fatter.”

Dave did point out that his new wife, Kelli, saw nothing wrong with his pants.

“She hasn’t said anything about it yet. We are only eight days into the marriage, so maybe she is still just being polite and not gonna bring it up.”

At least Dave has the support of his band mates, Hillary and Charles, who attended the wedding. However, there was no other Nashville star power in attendance.

“We kept it kinda small. Charles and Hillary are clearly such a big part of my life,” but for the most part it remained just “friends and family,” he said. “I didn’t invite any other artists, just because we kept it tiny.”

“We did have our buddy Dave Barnes, who wrote ‘God Gave Me You,’ and he performed that song in the ceremony. Which was really cool for us. [It's] a special song for us.”

As they wrap up, the issue of pants comes up one more time. “I’m gonna work on my pants,” Haywood says. “I was in the moment.”

Ray notes: “I’ve always said, only two guys can rock skinny jeans, Bieber and Dave Haywood.” To which Haywood replies, “Do not ever put me in a category with him!”

Lady Antebellum’s We Own The Night World Tour 2012 continues in May on the East Coast before heading overseas during the summer.
