Singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw had to hang up the dancing shoes after his elimination from Dancing With the Stars, but he’s not upset about it.  According to DeGraw, “Honestly, there was too much feeling in my toes.  You know,  when you start getting to the point where you can count your pulse in your big toe, that was an issue.”

Even though he plays in front of sold-out crowds all over the world, nothing made him more nervous than having to dance in front of a crowd.  “You’re leaving your field of expertise to go out there and try to execute this brand new fake skill you don’t quite have yet, in front of a larger audience you’ve ever seen…”

There’s no question the ladies like Gavin DeGraw, and he loves the ladies.  We asked him, “If you had to marry one, party with one, and collaborate with one and your choices were Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry, who would you choose?” His response? “I’ll collaborate with whichever one’s closer to the librarian.” Apparently his Dancing with the Stars experience taught him to dance around questions as well

As for the Dancing with the Stars stint influencing his future songwriting, he said, “Everything you do really influences your writing because you bring the emotional elements with you subconsciously, so you can’t help but be influenced by certain things.”

DeGraw is currently pumped up about the video for his latest single Sweeter, which co-stars South African Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Genevieve Morton. The kissing scenes were a particular favorite of DeGraw’s. “Every time we did a kissing scene I would say, ‘Hey, can we do another one of those? I think I’m better than that.’”
