It’s been over a week since Russell Brand filed for divorce from [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Katy Perry[/lastfm], but on Saturday she finally broke her silence on the issue, making her own statement to the public via her Twitter page.

She tweeted:

I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again.—

and followed up with:

Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, "close sources" or my family.—

Her soon-to-be ex-husband has not publicly commented since filing for divorce. About a month before the split he told TV host Ellen DeGeneres “I am really happily married.”

“I’m married to Katy,” he continued. “Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge. I’m still alive.”

Brand filed for divorce on December 30th.
