From local heroes to international pop successes, the members of Los Angeles neo-psychedelic indie group [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Foster The People[/lastfm] have seemingly accomplished more in the last year than some musicians do in their artistic lifetimes.
Much of this popularity has to do with their diverse sound–which is inspired by an equally diverse array of musicians.
Check out our list of the Top 10 Bands That Have Influenced Foster The People and watch them perform an exclusive Live on Letterman concert direct from the legendary stage of New York’s Ed Sullivan Theater.
The entire concert will stream live on Wednesday, October 26th at 9pm ET/6pm PT, and you can watch it right here or on CBS.com, presented by Dance Central 2 on Kinect for Xbox 360.

“A lot of influence from Brian Wilson. I’ve lived a lifetime of listening to music. When I write songs, it’s pulling from bits and pieces of whatever is floating around.”–Mark Foster
