I was impressed to find you knew Smoking In The Boys Room by Motley Crue was a cover of the Brownsville Station. I will tell you how it came about. Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott recommended it to Tommy Lee. In the early 80′s Def Leppard toured with the southern rock band Blackfoot. Blackfoot was offered the opportunity to tour with Brownsville station back in the day. If you don’t know, members of Blackfoot grew up with and at times members played in the band Lynyrd Skynyrd. I was discovered by Joe Elliott in ’83 and wrote songs for Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Kiss, Prince, INXS, Michael Jackson, Queen, Madonna, and many many more.
