This Thursday, October 7, Gorillaz will storm onto the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theatre for a special Live on Letterman show. Webcast live, the concert will see them take on material from 2010 album Plastic Beach alongside a glittering array of guest performers.
Last.fm Trends runs down the band’s most popular hits, all thanks to the music you’re really playing.
With millions of fans around the world, Gorillaz have been one of Last.fm’s best performing acts this past summer. Plastic Beach alone picked up more than 11,000,888 plays in total in just six months, and singles like “Melancholy Hill” have been troubling the band’s top tracks week-on-week.
The group’s all-time top tracks, though, are still classic singles from debut Gorillaz and follow-up Demon Days:
“DARE” and “Clint Eastwood” jockey for place, just a few thousand plays separating them for the number two spot. But they’re both in the shadow of “Feel Good Inc.,” a pop stomper featuring De La Soul on guest vocals.
After five years and 5,280,647 scrobbles it’s far ahead enough to remain untroubled by their latest offering. Here’s hoping it make it into their Live on Letterman setlist.
Watch the live webcast this Thursday, October 7, at 8pm ET / 5pm PT.
